Leadership in a Global Context - (30 credits)
  • The aim of this module is to enable students to become more self-reflective and develop their self-leadership skills, as well as understanding leadership and leading others within a Global and sustainable context. Students will engage with analytical tools to help identify their personal leadership strengths and also areas for development. In a fast paced 21st century organisation leaders need to be adept at navigating internal and external challenges, therefore a creative and entrepreneurial approach to leadership is essential to organisational agility and success. Through action learning sets and working with peers, students will develop skills in both personal leadership and leading others in an increasingly global context, these skills can then be used to develop the teams in their Organisations.
Strategic Approaches to a Healthy Workplace - (30 credits)
  1. The aim of the module is to equip students with the skills and knowledge to develop strategic approaches to developing a healthy workplace. Students will learn about the impact of managing mental health and wellbeing on organisational performance. They will critically assess the complexities of managing mental health and wellbeing in an organizational context, evaluate contemporary approaches to developing healthy work systems and design and develop a resource to promote mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Students will also propose a series of recommendations to create and sustain a positive culture of mental health and wellbeing within an organisational context.
Business & Finance Strategy - (30 credits)
  1. As the global business environment becomes ever more complex and volatile, there is a need for organisations of all shapes and sizes to think and act more entrepreneurially, innovatively and creatively in order to be able to change and adapt. This interdisciplinary module will provide students with an understanding of the internal and external factors that impact strategic decision making. Students will be introduced to a variety of strategic theories, tools and concepts, in the context of both the external and internal environments and their impact on strategic challenges and choices. Students will also look at the associated strategic financial concepts and how they support and help to manage long term planning. Students will be exposed to a variety of academic and practical material that they can apply to their own organisations, or a live case organisation in order to appreciate the importance of developing and implementing innovative strategic plans for the success of the organisation, its key stakeholders and society more broadly.
Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Intrapreneurship - (30 credits)
  1. The module aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to address the sustainability challenges through new ventures as well as within existing organisations. Students will learn what the entrepreneurial mindset can achieve, how to critically evaluate sustainability-orientated entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship projects, and how to build organisations that can be sufficient and successful to embrace sustainability. The module focuses on the importance of developing an organisation and creating its capacity for strategic capability to embrace sustainability.
Dissertation - (60 credits)
  1. This module requires individuals to integrate learning and development and synthesize knowledge and understanding of theory and practice through its application to organisational issues, which are demonstrably concerned with development within the organisation(s). Students work towards this through undertaking a major project related to a business issue of significance within a duration of 12 months.
